by Mar 4, 2019Man Crush Monday

Hey y’all and welcome to our maiden edition of the #ManCrushMonday playlist that will be featuring the best chart topping sounds from the leading male vocalists and lyricists- dominating the Nigerian Music scene.

Today we will be listing the Top Ten Male Artists with swag and appeal, we will not just be crushing on those things that makes them thick, but more importantly their power on the MIC which is their – music.

We kick off proceedings from top to number ten today, not in the reverse like we do in most of our listings.

1. Gbona by Burna Boy

Burna Boy takes the number one spot on our #MCM hunks today, aside from being one of the most ripped out athletics buds out there, this dude has shown his strength and prowess on the MIC. His genre is mainly root rock reggae, raga and alternative afro pop.

2018 was the year that he did most of his top works, and 2019, Burna is still hot and kicking as Gbona takes the top position. A track that could be classified as Afro beat cum high life; here he brings back Afro Beat Legend the Ebami Eda to life.

You can join him make the hook below-

…when the gbedu de enter body..de enter body…

all the gal dem de shake dia body….

2. Talk by Falz the Bahd Guy

Coming on the heels of his power banger of a cover song and Childish Gambino‘s This is America– This is Nigeria, a song that generated so much controversy that Falz‘s dad and legal luminary- Femi Falana almost came into the fray when extreme Muslim rights group MURIC, threatened court actions against his son for wrongly portraying Muslim women in the video.

Well all that is already in the public domain, right now it’s about TALK, another conscious track criticizing societal ills bedeviling Nigeria as we speak, you can call it a This is Nigeria sequel.

3. Iwa by Phyno feat Tekno

When these two oriental kings came together to cook this love duet, I knew it was gonna be one helluva sound; and believe the song lived up to its pre-release billings.

Iwa is a love song that assumes a rather sensual and soothing tone, especially with the superb hook by Tekno, even as Phyno brings his lyrical prowess to the fore once again in this beauty of a song meant for the top of the Nigerian music charts.

4. Ah Blem Blem by Timaya

Timaya is one old wine that keeps tasting better, having been around this industry for a while, this Plantain seller has proven his mettle each and every time he steps on the Mic to cook up a fresh sound. Just like you’ll get to feel him in this new piece he calls – Ah Blem Blem, a party banger and one that stirs a lot of testosterone when enough estrogen is around- feel me!

5. Nkwo by Slow Dog

Slow Dog is another bud that has been around for some time now, he is one of the earliest pioneers of indigenous rap. He kinda went into some hiatus only making appearances at shows, mostly in the Orient where he is based.

He comes out strong in this new banging single he calls – Nkwo a new sound that infuses the normal contemporary afro rap rhyme into the new rave of the moment- shaku shaku, with a strong appeal that compels you to dance and levitate towards this new piece of musical work.

6. One Ticket by Kizz Daniel feat Davido:

When former G worldwide ace Kizz Daniel and Assurance crooner and DMV Boss Davido; decided to do something for the fans, its natural that there’s really gonna be no bad songz between these duo.

One Ticket is one one song that will stay on the Nigerian Music Charts for the better part of 2019. A love song of profound dimension, for the ladies , especially as a duet to reawaken their love and appreciation for their men.

7. Tear Rubber All Star Remix by DJ Neptune feat Mayorkun X Mr. Eazi X Duncan Mighty X Afro B

DJ Neptune did one of the best collaborations you can ever imagine when he decided to bring these four musical geniuses together- Mayorkun, Mr. Eazi, Duncan Mighty & Afro B; in this quintet that pleases the senses of our ladies and future baby mamas.

8. Keys by 9ice

Once an Icon, always one; 9ice takes the industry all reeling as the Gongo aso crooner shows the new cats how it is done in this Alternative contemporary Afro pop sound of differing proportions he calls- Keys

Rendered partly in English and vernacular (yoruba to be precise); 9ice truly brought the vibes together in this empathetic love song with profound lyrics, sublime delivery and finished superbly to the amazement and joy of every listener.

9. Aza by Davido feat Duncan Mighty X Peruzzi

Davido takes his musical adventure deep into the creeks of the South South city of Port Harcourt as he hooks up with one of the Oriental Kings and self styled PH first sonDuncan Mighty, as well as fellow Label Mate and song writer extraordinairePeruzzi, in this love song – Aza

A story of love, persistence and understanding, I truly loved and felt the hook as performed by Duncan Mighty himself even as he screams:

ofe nsala..umu asala aya aya ya million dollar…

sara mabara…

10. Bam Bam by Timaya feat Olamide

Timaya makes another entrance on this Monday’s hot releases and he truly deserves that. Here he hooks up with YBNL Boss and Street KingOlamide in this collabo that rocks- Bam Bam

The tune really takes you through the labyrinth giving y’all something to vibrate, giggle, dance and gyrate over. The chemistry between these two was so glaring, one that gives the fans what they yearn for- good Music!
