Conscious Rap is gradually taking roots in the scheme of things as far as the industry is concerned and rap exponents like Mr Perosky is making it so, especially as he drops the vocals for his new single –Ghetto Life.
The track delves into societal ills and its attendant evil which could be attributed to the rise in crime and decline of moral values especially in the Youths. It assumes a special focus into the ills of society- from police brutality, gang war, peer to peer pressure and more.
In this track, he takes time in lacing his lyrics, exploiting some rather generic and street slangs all delivered sublimely and in Story Telling fashion. I also loved the infusion of vernacular (the Efik/Ibibio language to be precise).
The track resumes on a very slow tempo, gains a little traction then stays so in the course of the entire rendition with beats so assuaging and self explanatory.
Ghetto Life was produced by Standard, a producer who understands the sublime use of beats over rap rhetorics to make a sound statement.
This is yet another hot piece of lyrical expression by Mr Perosky, a little deviation from his previous effort- Turn up, and it’s relativity to the times, makes this track worth listening to and downloading
