Today we bring you New York’s female rapper, Young M.A.

Young M.A whose real names are Katorah Marrero was born in April 3, 1992 making her 28 years old but if you watch her videos, she looks like a young rich guy, I mean my guy kept making reference to her as he. (Twas crazy though).

This is not because she’s ugly but because she comes with a different dress style. Unlike her other female artist’s and rappers who prefer showing off their sexiness.

Young M.A means “Young Me Always”, a name she said she had to accept her sexuality as a lesbian and this brought a whole new vibe for her music career.

In March last year, American rapper Kodak Black stated he wanted a sexual relationship with Young M.A and this caused a bit of controversy on the net, although Young M.A dismissed the issue calling it “weak” and “weird”.

Young M.A had a very rough growing up experience as her father got incarcerated when she was just one year old, leaving her to grow up and close to her brother Kenneth Ramos who later got stabbed to death in September 2019 by an old time friend.

Her music career began with her writing rhymes at age 10 and her mum supported her by buying her a karaoke box which later turned out to be a makeshift studio.

Asides Music, Young M.A is the founder of KWEENZ, a foundation that helps people from East New York overcome their depressions and grief after losing a loved one.
Her favorite note is “No matter how much success you have in life, you still go through those struggles and still go through that pain”.

In 2017 she was nominated twice for Best new artist, and Best female hip hop artist in the BET awards and once in Best new artist for MTV Videos Music awards.
